Ms. Drexel was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She has attended Illinois Wesleyan University and Northern Arizona University. She has also earned a B.S. Ed. from NAU.

Ms. Drexel has always had a strong interest in reading and writing, and can not remember at anytime in her life that she did not enjoy the English language.
