
Jacqueline (Jackie) Oliver was born in Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Congress when she was eight years old. She attended Congress School and Wickenburg Schools, grading from Wickenburg High School. She has a Bachelor’s of Art degree in English and Speech from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a Master of Library Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
Ms. Oliver has been a teacher and librarian for 32 years. She has taught first through eighth grade in several schools in Arizona and Texas. This is her 15th year at Wickenburg High School. She was librarian for 12 years, and taught English the past two years. This year she is teaching English 9 in the morning, and is the WHS librarian in the afternoon.
While working at WHS, Ms. Oliver has coached softball, volunteered at track meets, cross country meets and football games, ushered at the Webb Center and sponsored the National Honor Society.
When not involved in school activities, Ms. Oliver enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and walking her Basset Hounds. She served on the Congress Library Board for many years, and has been active with the Business and Professional Women. She is a past president of both the Wickenburg and State Business and Professional Women organizations.
