Mrs. Myers
Mrs. Myers started teaching at Wickenburg High School in the fall of 1999. She is married to Mr. Myers who is also a teacher and coach at WHS. Mrs. Myers is a native of Arizona and attended at Copperwood Elementary before joining the staff at WHS. In the Fall of 2007, Mrs. Myers was awarded the Silver Apple from 3TV. Beside teaching social studies, Mrs. Myers used to coach the Varsity Spirit Line(Fall 1999- Spring 2004). Today Mrs. Myers is a sponsor to the SADD and advisor for the Student Council/Government class. Outside of school, Mrs. Myers is a Level 3 Judge and counties to coach with ADG, a nationally ranked synchronize swimming team who practices in the Phoenix area. In 2004, she was a member of only Arizona synchro team representing the U.S. at the FINA World Master Championships in Riccione, Italy. Both Mr. and Mrs. Myers love to travel and just returned from Astana, Kazakhstan where they lived for 2 mouth while completing the adoption of their son.
Art I is an introductory art class designed to familiarize the student with a variety of Art techniques and materials. The materials may include tempera, watercolor, pen and ink, pastels, charcoal, pencil and block printing, Hand building of ceramics and sculpture techniques are also taught. The course contains a short (approximately one week) section of Art History included in each semester.

Art II
Art II is a continuation of some of the techniques and media introduced in Art I. The student will work with materials such as acrylics, silk screen, and be required to create a number of ceramic objects on a potter's wheel. The class also offers two periods of art history per semester.
Grade Level: 10,11,12 Course Length: 1 year

Independent Study
Independent Studies (a.k.a. Art III) is a studio based class. Through conferences with the teacher, the student will determine his/her area of exploration in art. Such areas may include silversmith, silk-screen, oil painting and weaving. It is highly recommended that the student and teacher coordinate this prior to the school year to ensure that the needed materials are available for the student's use. As in Art I and Art II there are certain requirements such as art history.

ART IV (Top Class)
Art IV projects are designed to expose students to new and various forms of art. The forms to be explored are of a type that would help prepare the student to be successful in a college visual arts class. For those students that are planning on majoring in the visual arts the class also helps the student develop a portfolio of their work. Some of the areas of study are: Opaque and transparent painting, ceramics, life drawing, design, art history, multi-media two dimensional art, sculpture, printmaking etc.
