BASIC AIMS PREP AND PRE-ALGEBRA


This course is designed to help student's become proficient in mathematics with the emphasis on algebra and geometry.

ALGEBRA I: EXTENDED - A


This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of Algebra. It includes the study of the properties and operations of real numbers, signed number operations, solving all types of linear equation and inequalities, applications involving linear equations and inequalities, linear equations in two variables, operations with monomials and polynomials, and probability and statistics.

ALGEBRA I: EXTENDED - B


This course is designed to continue a two year Algebra I sequence. The course will include systems of equations, factoring, solving quadratic equations, operations with rational expressions, solving rational equations, and applications of systems and rational equations.

Math Assistance


This course is intended to review numeric and Pre-Algebra concepts while providing support for students enrolled in Algebra I Extended A. The course will include a review of rational number operations of all types, problem solving strategies, and the use of manipulatives to reinforce Algebraic concepts.

AIMS Prep 10


This course is designed to provide instruction in the standards and benchmarks students will need to pass the AIMS Test. The content consists of geometry, discrete mathematics, reasoning and logic, and data analysis. This course is needed to supplement Extended Algebra I in preparation for the AIMS Test, therefore, will be limited to these students only. Additionally, there will be a strong standardized test preparation component in this class.

Geometry

Algebra II


This course is designed to prepare students for standard college-level algebra. The topics will include reviews of the properties of real numbers, polynomial and rational expressions, solving equalities and inequalities in one variable, linear equations and inequalities in two variables. We will also work with irrational and complex expressionism, conic sections, probability and statistics and a variety of problem-solving techniques. Systems of equations and applications, elementary functions, log and exponential functions, and trigonometric functions and identities are included in the curriculum.

Pre-Calculus


This course is designed to cover a variety of analysis and pre-calculus topics to prepare students for advanced courses in mathematics. The topics will include a study of mathematical systems and sets, vectors, complex numbers, sequences and series, infinite sequences and series, matrix operations, elementary functions, transcendental functions and limits of functions.

AP Calculus AB Honors


This course is designed to prepare students to take the AP Calculus test for college credit. The topics include functions, limits, rates of change, derivatives, and applications of derivative, differentials and differential equations, areas under curves, integrals and applications of integrals.

This course is designed to prepare students to take the AP Calculus test for college credit for a second semester of college level Calculus. The topics include advanced methods of integration, polar coordinates, improper integrals, and advanced applications of integrals.

Math Connections


This course is designed to round out a student's mathematical skills. The course concentrates on helping the student acquire and apply the concepts and skills found in the Arizona State Mathematics Standards. The topics covered in this course include a review of basic Algebraic concepts and operations, the interpretation and construction of graphs, basic statistical measures, and basic Euclidean Geometry, fractions and number theory, rational expressions, applications of ratios and proportions, percents, the features and properties of circles and polygons, probability, statistical representations and geometry.
