FRESHMAN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH: This class meets the minimum state requirement for physical education and health. The health portion emphasizes life long fitness, physical, emotional, and social health as well as self esteem, stress management, human anatomy, nutrition, substance abuse, infectious diseases (STD, AIDS), injury prevention and first aide. The Physical Education portion will emphasize lifelong sports (golf, tennis, fitness, challenge course, biking, hiking, outdoor activities), and team sports.

WEIGHT TRAINING: This class is designed to encourage the student to achieve and maintain a high level of physical fitness (strength, speed, power, flexibility, anaerobic, and aerobic conditioning). Student will learn fitness program design, elements of fitness, nutrition, human anatomy, fitness testing procedures, and proper lifting techniques.

SPORTS MEDICINE: Syllabus This course will prepare the student to be a Student Athletic Trainer. Class work will include an introduction to human anatomy in relation to an athlete participation in sport. Class topics will include in-depth studies of recognition, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries, first aid and CPR, care of common athletic injuries, use of tape, wraps and protective equipment.
