Becoming Member

In order to becme a member of NHS the academic records of all junior and senior students enrolled at Wickenburg High School are sorted to determine schlastic eligibility with at leasst a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Once eligibility is determined the potential members are first screened by the high school faculty as to their character which inludes these six tratis: trustworthy, respectful, caring, responsibility, fairness and citizenship. After students have passed the character screening the students are asked by the Faculty council to fill out a Student Activity Information Form. This form includes sections on the following activities: Co-Curricular, Leadership Positions, Service, Other Community Activities, Work Experience, Recognition and Awards.

The completed Student Activity Information forms will be reviewed by the Faculty Council, along with any other verifiable information about each candidate and his/her activities which define the cadidates. The cadidates are notified by a letter regarding their selesction. If a student is not selescted a letter is also sent informing them of why they were not accepted.

Once students have been selected they are inducted into the Wickenburg High School Chapter of the National Honor Society at a special Induction Ceremony. Upon completion of their service hours and graduation the member becomes a life long alumnus of the National Honor Society recognized throughout the United Staes of America which acknowledges the scholarship, service and character that the student has shown in their high school career.
