Varsity Coach - Ron Bergman
Born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Wickenburg in 1972. Graduated from WHS in 1980. As a player I was fortunate enough to play baseball at WHS for the legendary, hall of fame coach Joe Kenrick. I was the MVP on the State Championship team in 1980.

I began coaching my sons in little league some 14 years ago, and followed the group of 2007 graduates all through the years of summer baseball, tournament and club team baseball, Vulture Peak Jr High Championship, on into High School.
I am in my 5th year of coaching the Wranglers, 4th year as head coach. The Wrangers have compiled a 75-27 record during my time with the program. We have won numerous tournament championships, one 3-A West Regional Championship, and in 2007 with a 25-3 record, we won the coveted 3-A State Championship.

After a rebuilding year in 2008, we are looking forward to making another run at the State Title again this year.

I don't know if there are any other Wickenburg High School Graduates that were fortunate enough to win a State Championship as both a player and a coach, but I feel I have truely been blessed to be able to pass on some traditions from the past, from some of my old coaches, namely Coach Joe Kenrick, and Coach Ralp Moran, to the Wranglers of today.

My goal is not just to win baseball games. My goal as a coach is to teach the young men that are entrusted to me to have a passion for excellence. I want to inspire them to work, both as individuals and as a team toward a common goal.

Baseball is a unique sport that offers some very distinct opportunities to teach life lessons. It is an individual sport that is played as a team. It is a game that teaches players to deal with failure on a regular basis, and how the players deal with that failure will have an impact of the team. Leadership is encouraged and developed in my team captains and in all of my Senior players.

I teach my players that the "Team" part of baseball is the most important, and that together they can encourage each other to "Pick Me Up" when they fail.
In fact on the inside of every players 2007 State Championship ring we have engraved "Pick Me Up".
