Varsity Coach James Wiley

After accepting the coaching position in the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year, James Wiley is the new head coach fo the Wickenburg Lady Wranglers Varsity Basketball team. hee is new to us this year, but nevertheless Wiley is very familiar with the basketball program, as he was assistant coach fo the 07-08 girls basketball season at Northern Oklahoma College.

He attended Keyes Oklahoma High School, where he partivipated and lettered all four years in basketball, baseball, track and cross-country. His basketball team was district champion in his freshmazn and sophmore years, and the team was a state qualifier his sophomore year with an all time record high for Keyes with a 29-4 season.

Originally a music major at Northern Oklahoma College, he switched to physical education because he missed sports. He was the first recipient of the Jared Weilberg Scholarship, awarded to a walk-on player or student assistant team manager whose qualities include work ethic, loyalty, unselfishness and a passion for basketball.

We are very grateful to have coach wiley here at WHS, but his knowledge proceeds far beyond the court. he has an Associate of science degree in Physical Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a minor in Psychogy from North Western Oklahoma State. Coach Wiley is married to a former Ms. Sandra Faubion, who also works at WHS, and they have a lovely son together named Gavin. We Are extremely grateful to have them both with us in Wickenburg.

Junior Varsity Coach Mr. Haller

As an Arizona native, I have enjoyed living in and watching the state of Arizona grow over the past 60 plus years.  I have seen the valley grow and expand almost to Tucson and as far north as the mountains and Lake Pleasant.  Having traveled extensively while in the U.S. Marine Crops, I know there is no place better than Arizona.

I taught in the Paradise Valley School District for 30 years while living in north Phoenix before retiring and moving to Wickenburg.  After my daughter graduated from Wickenburg High School, the opportunity to teach and coach presented itself, which I took.  Having not taught for a few years, I missed the interaction with my students. So, here I am.  My philosophy on teaching is simple. “Everyone can learn, anyone can be average, and students do not have the right to fail.”

I have taught Physical Education, Journalism, Video Productions, Advanced Graphics and computers during my teaching career.  Here at Wickenburg I am involved with the CTE department and teach Career Tech and Business Management classes.

My coaching career has been a long one blessed with some tremendous athletes and people.  I have coached football, basketball, track and baseball during my tenure as a coach. I have been blessed with meeting and working with some tremendous students that have gone on to do great things and be even better people.  I have enjoyed watching young people become adults knowing I had a hand in their development.
